Weep not for Nigeria

Basil Odilim

Nigeria is run by the forces of darkness who are so many and relentlessly determined that they will continue to keep the nation in perpetual darkness, even at the expense of their own grandchildren.

Or what will it take to rehabilitate these children, particularly in Kano?

If they were in China or India, they would be in world-class schools, emerging as engineers and professionals sent across Africa to drive development. What a paradox. Jonathan was making progress by putting them in public schools, but they removed him.

Sanusi, then the Emir of Kano, reportedly colluded with el-Rufai of the APC, powerful kings in the Arab world, and some Western powers to oust Jonathan, falsely claiming his administration was anti-Islam.

I will continue to speak the truth as I see it until the day I enter my grave. Now they cry for Jonathan to return and clean up the mess?

That’s why I find some solace, even though Peter reportedly won the presidency, which was allegedly stolen from him in Rivers. God, in His infinite wisdom, wanted Tinubu to inherit the chaos he helped create rather than Peter.

For seven years, I warned Nigerians about the harm Buhari was causing. For nine years, I sounded the alarm about Emefiele. Yet, instead of heeding my warnings, many Nigerians dismissed me as a prophet of doom. Emefiele even went so far as to allegedly block and destroy my sources of income, taking my concerns personally. Now, as both of them enjoy their retirement, Nigeria is engulfed in economic, social, and security crises. With my chapter in Nigeria now closed, I pray that God will guide me safely as I leave this country behind.
